Bosnian Language for
Beginners
February – April 2010
The courses in Bosnian Language & Culture provide students with the basics of communication in Bosnian language and an understanding of the culture of the people who speak it.
Programme: 24 clock hours, at two hours twice a week, over six weeks.
Beginners programme also includes: class materials: student's book, and supplementary materials
Our Teachers are qualified with a degree in Philology from University of Sarajevo. They are native speakers of Bosnian, and have more than 6 years of experience in teaching Bosnian as a Foreign Language. They will help you improve your speaking, listening and comprehension skills, as well as grammar and vocabulary. The language of instruction is Bosnian to ensure that students get as much exposure to target language as possible. Teachers will also use interactive techniques such as role-plays, games and simulation of real life situations.
Course Overview
Bosnian language course is designed to teach you how to use Bosnian in your everyday lives, not simply teach you the rules of grammar. There is a strong emphasis on spoken practice and functional knowledge of the grammar. You do not need any prior knowledge of either Bosnian or English to join the classes.
Minimum class size: 6 students
Maximum class size: 12 students
Level description: Beginners
On completion of this level you are familiar with some basics of Bosnian language: you are able to express present tense and ask questions. You know basic characteristics of nouns and adjectives. You can use vocabulary related to time, colours, clothes and food. You are capable of simple communication in situations like shopping and restaurants.
